Emergency News


Due to the effects of Hurricane Matthew all UNC Pembroke classes and campus activities have been suspended effective immediately and continuing through Wednesday. Fall Break is Thursday and Friday. Emergency shelter, food and water will be provided to students who are unable to leave campus. Phone service for the UNCP Police Department has not been restored. Students should call 911 in case of an emergency. The university has activated its personal address speakers to communicate with students.

UNCP Employees: The university is operating under condition #3 Closure, in accordance with the UNC system adverse weather and emergency events policy, January 1, 2016. All employees will receive a detailed email with further instructions. We are grateful for the dedication UNCP employees have exhibited to ensure the safety and security of our students and employees, which is our top priority. We will continue to share additional information as it is available.

As always, if you believe that commuting to campus during inclement weather places your life or property at risk, stay home and inform your instructor and/or supervisor.

  • TV: WBTW - Channel 8.2, WRAL - Channel 3.2, WTVD - Channel 6.2, TWC News - Channel 9.1, and WMBF - Channel 5.2.
  • RADIO: WQSM 98.1, WKQB 106.9, WFNC 640, WRCQ 103.5, WKML 95.7, WFLB 96.5, WZFX 99.1, KISS 107.7, WAZZ 1490, WJSG - G104.3, WLNC 1300, and WIOZ 102.5.
